What a weekend it was for the group on May bank holiday, with all three sections heading off on very different adventures, proving once again that there’s something for everyone in Scouting!

🦫 Beavers: Family Camp Fun

Our Beavers joined forces with 1st Sheet Beavers for a fantastic family camp, spending two days under canvas and enjoying some well-earned time away from screens. With parents joining in the adventure, it was a great opportunity to share the Scouting experience together.

The weekend was packed with activities, including pioneering projects, archery sessions, team challenges and a treasure hunt that had everyone exploring the site. The Beavers also had the chance to cook over an open fire, always a highlight, before gathering around the campfire in the evening for songs, stories and plenty of laughter.

It was brilliant to see families getting involved, making memories and enjoying the simple pleasures of outdoor life.

🐺 Cubs: HamCubJam 2026

Meanwhile, our Cubs headed off to HamCubJam 2026, joining a thousand Cubs from across Hampshire to celebrate an incredible milestone, 110 years of Cub Scouting.

HamCubJam (short for Hampshire Cub Jamboree) was a large-scale camp bringing together Cub packs for a weekend of adventure, friendship and fun. The event took place at Foxlease Park in the New Forest. There were loads of activities to challenge and inspire the Cubs – rafting, climbing, archery, tomahawk throwing, lego robots, sack races, first aid, hammocking and much much more.

Events like CubJam are a real highlight of the Cub calendar, giving young people the opportunity to meet others from different groups, build confidence and try activities they might not otherwise experience.

A huge camp fire on the Saturday and a disco on the Sunday brought the whole camp together to make new friends and plenty of noise!

⛺ Scouts: Back to the Outdoors

Closer to home, our Scouts made the most of the weekend with a camp of their own at Stedham. The focus was simple but important: getting back into the rhythm of outdoor life ahead of a busy summer programme.

Tents were pitched, kit was checked, meals were cooked and skills were refreshed as the Scouts eased themselves back into camping life. They also hiked to Midhurst and back, planning their route and navigating their way. It’s all about building confidence and independence, and making sure everyone is ready for the adventures ahead — from bigger camps to nights under the stars.

🌟 A Weekend to Remember

Three sections, three camps, and one shared spirit of adventure. Whether it was family time for Beavers, a county-wide celebration for Cubs, or preparation for the months ahead with Scouts, the weekend captured everything that makes Scouting special.

Here’s to many more campfires, challenges and outdoor adventures as we head into a busy summer!
