All members of the Scout Movement make an age-appropriate promise to uphold the values of the Scout Movement. Most of our Beavers make the traditional promise.
I promise to do my best
And to be kind and helpful
And to love God.
We have alternative promises for those of different faiths or no faith.
The Promise for members who are Atheists or of no faith background

And to be kind and helpful
And to love our world.
The Promise for members who are Buddhist

And to act with love towards everyone.
The Promise for members who are Jewish
I promise to do my best
And to be kind and helpful
And to love God
The Promise for members who are Muslim

And to be kind and helpful
And to love Allah
The Promise for members who are Sikh

And to be kind and helpful
And to love Waheguru.
What does our promise mean
When we promise something, we are telling people that we really mean what we say.
So what does the Beaver Scout Promise mean?
I promise to do my best
You promise to do your best in everything you do
For example:
- At school
- At home doing your homework
- Doing sporting activities
- Playing a musical instrument
- Doing your Hobbies
- And of course, at our Beaver Colony meetings.
To be kind and helpful
- Do what you can to help other people who need your help
- Do not wait to be asked for help
- Share the good things you have
- Be friendly toward other people
And to love God/Our World.
- To care for the world around you
- To pray to your God in the way you have learnt
