Scout camp 2026 saw the troop at Harry’s Island campsite in the New Forest. No fires this year because of the recent heatwave so instead we’re cooking with gas.
On Monday we headed to Calshot for some time on the water. The wind was quite strong, but fortunately not quite too strong, so the Scouts got to experience dinghy sailing – with most having a dip in the Solent too! Lunch on the shore then back to site to prep and cook dinner.
Tired Scouts Tuesday morning after the sailing, so a leisurely start before getting out the pioneering poles. Shiver (and lash) my timbers – they’re building a pirate ship! A break from shipbuilding in the afternoon to whittle whistles.
