Day 6 of camp and the pirate pioneering project is shipshape. The crew are hammocking a-midships tonight. Land navigation skills have been tested. The Explorer Young Leaders were dropped in a mystery location with map and compass and had to find their way back to site, via two checkpoints where treasure troves of snacks and drinks were hidden. The scouts planned and walked a 7km circular route through the New Forest countryside. All week the scouts have been looking after a ‘goldfish’ – no fish no tuck! More knife skills and cooking later, then sadly camp draws to a close on Friday.
