Scout camp continues, and on Wednesday the scouts planned routes then navigated their way on a 4 hour hike, then cooked dinner on their fires. That night some of the scouts slept in hammocks – a couple of fallers getting in, but everyone made it through the night.
Thursday saw the rain arrive. The Patrol Leaders and Assistants went off for a second hike, to complete their Expedition badge. The other scouts were on site learning how to manage the site in the wet. In the dry spells, we took down some of the canvass, and cooked pizzas in the camp oven.
Very heavy rain overnight, and some tired scouts so a late start on Friday. But also a dry start, and the fires have been lit to cook breakfast. Weather permitting, more hammock sleeping is planned for our last night, as we try to get tents down dry if possible.
