After setting up their tents and eating dinner, the Cubs went on a tour of the site with Akela and had hot chocolate at a mini-campfire.
On Monday, the cubs were awake bright and early with the sun! At breakfast came the first camp duties – with one Six cleaning the site, another cleaning the loo block, and the third helping with cooking. The Cubs will be switching duties each meal, so they’ll all get a go at everything.
With Flag Break came a new problem – we left the flag at home! In true Scouting fashion, we’ve improvised a replacement out of a tea towel.
After tidying their tents and making their bedding rolls, it was time for the first main activity – Archery! Each Cub got to fire six arrows before a team game to “make a pizza”, which they found great fun.
In the afternoon, the Cubs were back on site getting started on their Malawi Badge with mask-making, and some pioneering to build washing-up stands.
After dinner and camp duties, it was time to get bedding rolls back out and tents sorted, before a quick sing-song round the campfire with hot chocolate.
