Squirrels join Liss Scouts!
Young people aged 4 to 6 years old in and around Liss are enjoying being part of our new Squirrel Drey! Squirrels is a brilliant opportunity for young people to take their first step into being part of Scouts. Our one hour sessions allow boys and girls to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities all linked to the Scouting programme.
10 Squirrels enjoyed our opening night where they participated in squirrel themed activities inside and out. At the center of The Squirrel programme are stories so we started with an appropriately themed book; ‘The Squirrels who Squabbled’ in which we learnt that the best thing to share in life is friendship and a laugh, something we hope our members will do lots of! We explored the outside and collected pieces of nature to make squirrel pictures, and hunted for pictures in the hall to start learning who the leaders are. All our Squirrels left excited for our next meeting in two weeks time!
Future sessions will continue to be packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life.
