Another busy day for the Cubs today with our first activity at 10am – Tunnels! A network of tunnels with 11 entrances and many junctions lay underneath a mound, with the Cubs having to predict which exit they would come out from.
After tucking shop and lunch it was time to pile into the minibus for the short drive to rafted canoeing on the Weir Wood reservoir.
With eight Cubs per raft, four in each canoe, they had to work together to manoeuvre the rafts for a race to collect the tallest blade of grass, nicest leaf, shiniest stone, and straightest stick from around the banks, before returning for judging by the leaders. The Cubs then all took the opportunity to cool off in the water and see who could make the biggest splash.
Back at camp, most Cubs have now had a shower, and they added some finishing touches to their dragon sock puppets in the shade before dinner.
In the evening the Cubs expended all their energy in “Jacala’s Exercise Time”, playing a variety of team games on the field.
