Follow Royal Footsteps!

15 January 2012

Are you up to the challenge of following in Kate Middleton’s footsteps and stepping forward as an assitant leader?  Full training is provided, and you can take it at a pace and time to suit you.  You don’t need to be able to make it every week, or even every other week – even if you could only help on occasional weekends, the more qualified leaders we have, the more flexibility we have as a Group.    Scouting provides a hugely varied programme, for children and adults alike – so come and share your current skills and knowledge with others, and try out something new yourself.

Alternatively, could you take a post on our Executive committee (Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer), or do you know someone else who might?        Our current Chairman, Iain, is training to become Group Scout Leader – having been doing much of the work of a GSL for some time now!   As a result, he has to step down as Chairman – Scout and Charity rules prevent Leaders from also sitting on the Executive.       Our Secretary Rachel is also stepping back after three years, now that husband Tim is Assistant Scout Leader.   These roles need not require too much – half a dozen meetings over the course of the year and a bit of admin – and no previous experience, but Charity rules mean the Group is unable to continue without a full Executive being in place.  If you would like to know more about what’s involved, do please contact Iain by sleecting Adult Helper on the Membership Enquiry page.
