December Fund Raising

19 December 2011

A big thank you to the customers, staff and managers at Waitrose in Petersfield  who were so generous in giving donations and helping the group raise much needed funds towards the new Scout Hall  in Liss.

On 18 December Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Parents and Leaders, contributed their time to the bag packing at Waitrose with some of the Scouts doing additional shifts so we could cover as many tills as possible. There were no reports of broken eggs of squashed fruit.

Even the Beavers helped out

All the the leaders received complements about how smart everyone was and that  that customers were pleased to see the Scout movement was alive and well in Liss. They were also please that so many young people were actually involved in raising funds for the new hall.

After a long evening counting Jane has added up all the boxes and £976.13 was raised for the group funds.

When the money form the bag packing is added to the £136 that was raised at the Liss Christmas Fair, fundraising has gone well this month. But there still a long way to go to raise the funds we need for the new hall.

The West Liss Pavilion and Scout hall is a project being led by Liss Parish Council, more information is available on the Parish Council Website.
